Resistor
The resistor has been used for decades in everything from guitar amplifiers to jet fighter planes. These components are designed to resist the flow of an electrical current, hence their name. The higher the value of this resistance, which is measured in ohms, the lower the current will be. All resistors are color coded with either four or five color bands, which are used to indicate its value (in ohms).
