A device used to show signal waveforms. An oscilloscope is comprised of a display and one or more inputs where signals can be applied. The signal(s) can be graphically viewed on the display, which is calibrated in time increments for calculating wavelength and/or frequency, and amplitude for calculating voltage. In addition to these measurements, oscilloscopes are also good for looking at the shape of signal waveforms as well as many other types of measurements and information gathering where a graphic display is helpful.
