Q: I saw the Tech Tip about running a compressor pedal first in a guitar signal path. But what about when you have a wah-wah pedal? I thought those liked to be first?
A: Try it both ways — with the wah first, then with the compressor first, and try different combinations of the individual pedals on and off, and both on. Some wahs don’t like to have certain other pedals in front of them. You also may not enjoy the sound of the wah pedal with the compressor on after it. The only way to know is to try the various combinations and let your ears decide.
