Did you know that you can use Focusrite’s Saffire Firewire interfaces with the Thunderbolt ports on your Mac? It’s true! All that’s required is a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable and a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt adapter. That’s it — just plug in the interface, and you’re good to go. The adapter supplies 7 watts of bus power, so some of the Saffires will even run without their power supply (though this is not recommended).
