We've received a lot of nice feedback on last week's PC optimization guide. However, one reader points out that tip #9 about disabling virtual memory may not always be true. Generally we've found that when you have enough RAM you can improve overall performance by disabling virtual memory. However, in the world of computers, only things under the hood are absolute (and even this is arguable). We still don't know how every program is going to react to all the variables of system configuration. It's possible that you can make things worse. Feel free to leave virtual memory on if you have a specific problem with turning it off...or call our Tech Support and run it by them to see what they think.

This advice is generally true for all of those PC tips. They are really suggestions for things to try, not absolute things you must always do. But you will find that if you follow those guidelines your chances of having a stable system for digital audio production dramatically increase.
