"I'm trying to use Norton's Disk Doctor to defragment my Mac's drive. It says I need to boot the computer using the CD, but my computer is unable to boot that way. What do I do?"

In order to perform a full-fledged disk optimization on the drive you normally boot your computer from, the computer needs to boot up from a different drive. This is so the program can move all the files around on the disk, which if done while your computer was accessing them for routine system processes would crash the computer and possibly destroy files. It's not important, however, that your computer boot from the Norton CD. If you have another hard drive that you can install the OS on you can boot from that drive and run Norton from the CD. If not, you will need to upgrade your Norton software (probably not a bad idea anyway). They continually come out with new versions that are capable of booting the newest computers.
