When installing the Digidesign Audiomedia III on a PC using Win95, follow these steps for easiest install:
- Install the AMIII card in the slot furthest away from your video card.
- Start your computer. After the computer boots go to "Control Panel". Select "System", select "Device Manager", and then select "Other Devices". Remove the device labeled "PCI Multimedia Audio Device". DO NOT REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER YET!
- Exit out of Device Manager, and while still in Control Panel, go to "Install New Hardware". Press "Next", skip the "Search For New Hardware" option, and select "Sound Video and Game Controllers". With the Digidesign floppy disk in the A drive, press "Have Disk". Follow the prompts to complete the install of the Digidesign .WAV driver.
- Now reboot your computer. If you get a box that says, "Selected drive does not contain information about your new hardware", go back to the desktop, select "RUN" and browse the A drive for "Setup". Double click "Setup" and follow prompts to install. You should now be up and running with no conflicts.
