Q: “Can I use the USB ports on my Triton Extreme for MIDI instead of using a separate MIDI interface?”

A: Unfortunately, no. Each of the two USB ports on the Triton Extreme have different functions and are designed to be used as follows:

USB Port A connects to a CD-R/RW drive to record completed songs (once they have been resampled as .WAV files). These can be burned to CD as audio. This connection also allows you to use store data on external USB storage units such as a hard drive or USB flash memory device.

The Triton’s USB Port B allows you to connect an external computer to access the media in the Triton’s CompactFlash slot, allowing you to share files between your computer and the Compact Flash or Microdrive card.
