Getting your HD24 talking to your computer for file transfers.

“I want to transfer files between my new Alesis HD24 recorder and my computer DAW. I understand this can be done through Ethernet, but I’m not sure how to do it.”

All you need to do is connect a crossover type Ethernet computer cable between the Ethernet port on the HD24 and your computer. This assumes your computer is configured with Ethernet; if not you will need to purchase a networking card. Once you have them connected you need to program their IP addresses. Alesis recommends you set your HD24’s address to: 192.168.1.100, and your computer’s address to 192.168.1.1. Whatever addresses you end up using it’s important that they be different in order for two way communication to work.
