GEM has really nailed the portable, easy-to-use piano sound module with the RP-X. I found its minimalistic approach to the front panel highly refreshing and simple. Just plug it in and you're ready to start playing through the 99 patches and 50 sounds available. You can even layer or split up to four different sounds in a patch for rich, complex sounds that add to your extremely versatile array of patches. The other wonderful thing is the included editing software. If you don't want to use the front panel to access the EQ, reverb and other built-in effects or edit the presets, you can do it on your PC via USB. This makes it very convenient to back up and keep tons of patches and just load in the set you need at the moment or for the upcoming gig.
