The TASCAM FW-1884 has everything you need to get your best ideas into your computer, and it does it easily. There's plenty of inputs and outputs that will give you more flexibility than you'll find on other products in this price range.

I was very surprised to find all the options that are integrated with this interface. I used the FW-1884 to control a Digital Performer setup for recording and mixing, although this can control virtually any DAW software or MIDI device. All my essential shortcuts and functions are one button push away, and I can automate it all from the control surface. I could also mix all my projects in up to 7.1 surround sound with no other hardware. And talk about expandability; you can add up to 15 FE-8 modules for 128 physical faders!

"Versatile" is an understatement when it comes to the FW-1884. Not only does this control your DAW, but it works on its own as an 18-channel digital mixer! With insert points on all the preamps, you can turn this into a powerful all-in-one rig for your live shows, and turn it back into your recording console with a mere push of a button. It feels good to know you've got it all, and it feels even better in your hands.
