From Plug Sound by way of Big Fish Audio come two excellent sound plug-in collections. The first, the Hip Hop Tool Kit, includes a wealth of great sounds for producers and artists working in rap, hip-hop, and even the more dance-oriented pop. The second is the Synth Collection, full of (you guessed it) tons of synth sounds of all varieties. How else can you tap into some of the classic synths from the late 60s through some of today’s virtual analog modelers for less than a $100?
And now for something a little bit different. At Sweetwater, we frequently have important and well known/respected people from the industry visit for a variety of reasons ranging from their need to get gear at a place they trust all the way to them coming in on behalf of a manufacturer to give us their testimony. Regardless of the reason, it’s always interesting to meet these folks and get a feel for what they are all about. Next week we have the Wayne Gretsky of audio coming to visit us and your inSync editor thought it would be interesting to include the inSync readers somehow. The celebrity is Rupert Neve, and your inSync editor would like to offer to have him answer one question submitted by an inSync reader. I’ll be having lunch with him next week and could approach him one on one with your question. Here’s the deal. You guys send in your questions. We’ll pick one (or have Rupert pick one from a small group) to have him answer. It can be technical, but doesn’t have to be. A lot of people are interested in the history of Neve, for example. Sometime after his visit we’ll follow up with the answer to your question right here in inSync. Simple enough? Send your questions for Rupert to email@example.com. Be sure to note in the message that your question is for Rupert. Otherwise your inSync editor may run with it and answer it as a TTOTD.
