Abbreviated “NAS,” network attached storage is a computer or device designed and optimized especially as a file server, for sharing files with multiple users over a network. Network attached storage systems can use as few as one hard drive for file storage, but often multiple drives in RAIDs are used.
In the audio world, network attached storage is popular in large production environments where multiple studios or workstations must access a common pool of files.
