“Muzak” the brand name for music often played in the background in restaurants, in elevators, in stores, and in other public places is being renamed. The brand name, which has grown into common usage as a generic term for any background music, will be retired as its Canadian parent company, Mood Media, consolidates all of its brands under the name “Mood.”
