Many of us wear more than one hat in the studio – we’re musicians, singers, engineers, producers, composers, songwriters, mastering engineers…the list goes on. It’s important, especially when you are recording yourself, to free yourself from tethers that can slow you down. An easy way to break a few “leashes” is to go wireless wherever possible. This might mean using a wireless transmitter on your guitar or bass, if doing so doesn’t interfere with the sound you want. But also consider using a wireless keyboard and mouse/trackball for operating your computer/DAW, or consider going with a wireless DAW controller such as a Frontier Design Tranzport or X-Tempo Designs Pok (which also puts the controls under your feet).
