A removable hard drive cartridge system introduced by Iomega in the mid 1990′s. Jaz cartridges are currently available in 540 MB, 1 GB, and 2GB sizes. The relatively high capacity, ease of use, speed (average 12 ms seek time, 6.7 MB/S transfer rates) and low cost of Jaz has made them a popular format for moving and backing up large files encountered in modern audio production.
