In musical terms, “Improvised” means music, a solo, or a musical part made up or created on the spot, in real time. Though it would seem that solos and other parts are improvised out of thin air, in fact, master improvisers base their instantaneous creations on a well-practiced and studied resource pool of scales, licks, melodies, chords and chord changes, rhythms, and other musical elements, which are used as the basis for on-the-fly music creation.
