A treadle-type foot pedal that is used to control a parameter, such as volume, modulation, delay level, or any of myriad other parameters, in an electronic keyboard, synthesizer, effects processor, or other device. In some cases, the expression pedal directly controls the parameter, in others, the expression pedal signal is converted to a MIDI continuous controller message by the receiving device, and the CC message is used for control purposes.
