I had been looking for a way to get Pro Tools in a small format for quite some time. I have been using Pro Tools for many years and have been very happy with my current setup, but it was always cumbersome to rack up my 002 whenever I need to do an on site recording. Avid came out with the Mbox 2 Mini and it was exactly what I was looking for!

I decided to try out the Mbox 2 Mini for a voiceover project a few weeks back and I was very impressed! I felt completely at home using it in conjunction with my laptop, and I should add that the control knobs/inputs and outputs were VERY easy to find and tweak. It is definitely refreshing to show up at a gig, pull out my laptop, connect a mic or guitar and go! I should also mention that the Mbox 2 Mini comes with the full version of Pro Tools 8 software and ignition pack which comes with a TON of quality plugins and virtual instruments. Very cool Avid, you made my life much easier!
