Q: Whenever I insert a send on a channel strip in the Pro Tools mixer, it comes up with the send fader turned all the way down. Is there a way to have it come up with the send turned up?
A: Yes, there is a setting in Pro Tools preferences for this. In Pro Tools preferences, select the mixing tab. De-select the check box beside “Sends Default to ‘-Inf'” In Pro Tools 11, this setting is found at the top of the left-hand column in the Mixing preferences tab.
With the Sends Default box unchecked, any sends that you insert onto a channel in the Pro Tools mixer will default to having their fader set to “0.”
