Q: “Can I run one channel of my Crown amplifier at a different impedance than the other channel?”
A: Yes. All dual-channel Crown amplifiers can be treated as if they are two separate “mono” amplifiers – one channel can be completely independent of the other. For example, a Macro-Tech 2402 can function with a single 8-ohm speaker on channel one and four 8-ohm speakers (a 2-ohm load) on channel two.
Be sure to consult your amp’s owner’s manual to verify the specific load impedances it can handle.
