This refers to the ability of a device to draw the electrical power it needs to operate from a computer’s USB port or from a powered USB hub. For compatible devices, bus power can eliminate the need for a wall wart or other power supply. Bus powered keyboards and interfaces make portable systems much easier to manage, since the individual devices only need to connect to the computer; they don’t also need to be plugged into the wall AC outlet.
