Pro Tools Tip: Scroll Through Your Windows Without Moving the Cursor
If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel (which is common on Windows computers and available for Macs), you can adjust your current view without moving your cursor away from where you are working. Here are the ways that the scroll wheel could be used:

  • Without any modifier keys, it will scroll the Edit and Mix windows vertically
  • By pressing Shift, it will scroll the Edit window horizontally
  • By pressing Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows), it will zoom tracks in the Edit window in and out horizontally
  • By pressing Shift-Option (Mac) or Shift-Alt (Windows), it will zoom tracks in the Edit window in and out vertically
