- Boss Space Echo RE-20
- This is a digital recreation of the legendary Roland RE-201 Space Echo, one of the most beloved echo effects ever made. Roland and Boss have recreated every sonic detail and nuance of the original. The original RE-201 Space Echo made its debut in 1973, and is one of the most sought-after vintage effects of all time. Its rich, saturated tape sound with expressive hands-on control is legendary. And now you can experience the classic sound of the RE-201, and get yourself completely "lost in space" with the RE-20 from Boss.
- Way Out Ware KikAxxe
- This is a shockingly affordable, meticulous emulation of the classic ARP Axxe, with a 16-step, analog-style sequencer and a sample-based drum machine included. Onboard retro analog-style delay/echo effects only heighten the vintage vibe, but the functionality of the KikAxxe is totally modern. Features that today's players will love include a preset library, MIDI sync and mapping capabilities, and full compatibility with RTAS, VST, and AU hosts. The combination of old-school sound and the power of virtual technology make the KikAxxe a winner.
Guitar of the Day
Fender never seems to run out of ways to give the classic Stratocaster an interesting new look. For example, check out this impressive new American Deluxe Stratocaster, which combines a deep, rich amber stain with a jewel-like polyurethane finish over a select alder body, which has some awfully nice grain. This guitar is definitely built for speed, with its modern "C" shape maple neck and satin polyurethane finish, which contemporary players prefer. The 22-fret fingerboard is select rosewood, which delivers just a bit more warmth than the maple 'boards. The position markers are inlaid abalone dots, which add a real touch of class. For the American Deluxe Strat, Fender chose a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard - which adds a nice contrast to the amber finish - plus aged plastic parts.
It also features three of Fender's newest Samarium Cobalt Noiseless single-coil pickups, so all that hum and buzz that plagued many older single-coil pickup guitars is now a thing of the past. Naturally, you also get the modern 5-position blade pickup switching, but then Fender added its versatile S-1 switching system for an endless array of both vintage and modern tones. The deluxe 2-point synchronized tremolo has the new "pop-in" arm, which is really quite slick. It also ships in a standard Fender molded case. Honestly, this instrument looks so classy, Fender could quite easily have given it a much higher price tag than it did. Also available in a 3-color sunburst finish!
