    Aardvark Q10

    You are welcome Marthins.

Sorry for rambling on. I started out a few months ago and was going through some learning curves myself, I still am.

I recently switched my Q10 over to a larger PC. One thing I noticed, to get it working properly I had to get the buffers set correctly or it would just drop out over and over.

I am using 1024 on ASIO and 1280 on Hardware buffers. This works on both PC's.

Anybody have any knowledge about these buffers or what might be better settings?

Also, I have two Q10's and one sound card. Any ideas how to find a Direct Pro sound card for my other unit?

Last question, my q10 works on asio drivers. Are there other driver out there for WDM ect...an if so what is the difference or do i need to download them?

    Thanks, Free

    Direct Pro Sound Cards

    OK call me a dummy.

I was excited to find a direct pro sound card for my other Q10, except this direct pro card I purchased is for the 24/96 and LX6's only.

Always learning something new. Now I own an LX6 / 24/96 sound card with no unit and a Q10 with out a Q10 sound card.

At least I have one Q10 Interface and one Q10 sound card that works fine.

Here is the site for the latest Q10 drivers. 7.13 zip.
Download in a created folder inside Aardvark and extract there. then run the set up. This fixed the drop outs I spoke about eariler with buffer sizes ect...

    Anybody looking for a 24/96 / LX6 sound card?

    Take care,

    Q10 still working

LOL, saw this post from years ago and man have I learned a few things. Anyway on the Q10's set the buffer so that you are between 7-11 ms, mine works best around 10-11 with no drop outs. If you get a drop-out, raise it a bit. I have been recording with it 7 years now. My harware buffer is about 960. Then go 24 bit rate with it, is the best it can do. You can use 44.1 or 48 kHz. Click on the 64 turbo, so you are rendering at 64 bit. In Global settings set up the bit rate and also to render, and import bit rate. You can have mixed bit rate files in one project. In the sound card utility, be sure to adjust the DB levels at each track, you can boost weak signals there or set them to zero, make sure they are not muted.

Any questions about it, you can add me and drop me a note at myspace/rldillard
