Any chance I could get some advice on a good vocal mic for a male? Rock music.....besides the 57,58 and KSM105...
Thanks in advance.

Shure Beta 57aSlightly tighter pattern than an sm58, better high end presence than a 58 as well (I like these better than the beta 58's). It does need to be the newer "a" version though. the older beta 57's just don't sound the same to me.
Didn't Hynek post a shoot out between the KMS 105 and the AKG C535 EB a wile back? As I recall it was 80% as good for 1/2 the price. I have not heard a beta 58 on a male that I did not at least like. There is also that sennheiser e 865. Other than that, I don't know, mabey the Audix OM 5 or OM 6. On his last tour, Bruce Springstein used one of those mics.

like the beta 57A. also look into the beta 87A nice sounding mic with good feedback rejection
I'll chime in. Look at the Audio-Technica Artist Elite series. I've sung on the AE3300 and the AE5400, and have demo'd them for guys who are dedicated Shure guys, and they liked them. I haven't sung on the wired 4100 or 6100. I have sung on their wireless version of the 4100 in the 3000 series and it does a nice job. Presenlty, I and the quartet I sing with use the AE4250's with the 5400 handhelds. Love them!

Ditto on the Beta 87A. It's an absolutley amazing microphopne. After months of research and reading reviews and talking to knowledgable people, I bought myself one and I am extremely satisfied. Dare I say that it is the best live performance microphone? Equally suited to male and female vocals, this mic picks up everything, yet it's really quiet and a real feedback fighter. Many times better than the Beta 57A (which I also own) for vocals.
