    Mixing Live w/ pro tools

I am researching a pro tools rig for my church. We are putting in a split for broadcast/recording. On the broadcast side, I would need to be able to do a live mix much like an analog console for the VHS, streaming, and CD's that we produce after the sunday service. I would also like to come back and master certain songs/events that were recorded in the pro tools system. Obvioulsy pro tools can do the post part, but can it do a live mix on the fly and output to a tape machine?

You are much better off with a ProTools HD system than an LE one, but HD will not have a problem doing a full live mix, complete with plug ins, and if needed, scene automation. All the raw files will be saved as raw files, so if you want to remix them later, you can. ProTools can even do two or more simultaneous stereo mixes through using the aux busses, but that could start to get complicated in a live situation.
