Computer equipment surge protector/noise filter useful for audio?

    Hi. First post here!

I was just in Radio Shack the other day and saw that they had this little surge protector/noise filter on sale: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=61%2D2420

It says it will filter out up to 40dB or noise between 100kHz and 100MHz from the mains line..

I often do recordings using my laptop computer (Powerbook G4 12") and just bought an AudioBuddy mic amplifier that runs off mains power. Will this device help reduce noise in my recordings, or is the noise attenuation it features useless for audio?

Thanks.. It was $5.99 so i bought it, but i can return it if it's useless.
Obvously it's no Furman power conditioner, but i thought it might help....

Well I use one of those whole house surge protectors in the distribution box for my sound system power.

Theres no filter in it but it might save me.

10 KVA conditioners are expensive and HEAVY.
