I use a M audio Firewire solo, I use to record all my tracks throug an old mixer but today I recorded my bass directly through the instrument front panel and there it was, closer to that bass sound I missed so much, then my mixer is not a good thing to put in the chain, but when I record 2 miked tracks I need it ( voices and acoustic guitar ). I know the firewire solo is got spdif in and outs. My question is

a) Do u think is acceptable to buy an a/d converter to improve my chain? that would be the chain...

a) neumann- u 67, shure 57 or shure 58
b ) tl audio valve classic pre
c) *analog/digital converter or maybe a new soundboard*like a rme 400 fireface?

e)my m-audio firewire solo ( first thing to improve )

d) computer

f) near field monitors t 5 tapco by Mackie ( second thing I want to improve)

thanks a lot
