    Arrow HipHop; Critique wanted...

Hey all my name is Paul. I am new to the forum, it seems like a cool place.

Currently I mainly compose/produce hiphop and other electronic genres.

I was hoping to get a critique on one of my latest songs. I threw an acapella ontop just to get an idea, so try not to critique that if it is off a bit, looking for a critique on the music portion of the song.

    Thanks.

Hey thanks for the reply Bops.

As I put in the original post I was hoping for more feedback on the music rather than the vocals. Especially since they are not mine but from a 50cent album.

Anyway thanks, the Bee Gees rock!

    Hoping for some more critiques.

    Not Bad

    I mix mostly Hip-hop and R&B.

Rule number one for urban music your snare must always smack hard. The kick doesn't always have to hit hard all the time but the snare is a definitely.

The track is kinda busy in the mid-range. Remember this type of music is very vocally driven. Vocals might fight for a place to sit in the mix.

Other than that it is good work.

    cool

I think musically its tight, the brass, strings, choirs all flow together nice. Maybe its my output but it sounds like it needs some bottom say like 40-80hz atleast in the kicks and stuff. I like the leads you got goin on in there overall its an exciting track and would need an MC just as exciting to compliment.

    Paul,

Nice track man. You def. got some musical chops, some traditional schooling maybe? I like the Inverted Vs you got happening.

I agree with SKIP, I think you could use some sub bass boost. (though I listened to it on my logitechs on my interweb comp.) Snare sounds fine to me though, I think it sounds less predominant being, you got a lot of musical elements going on (something a lot of the new hip hop lacks).

    'sta bien.

ps- not hearing the beegees connection
