A full blown Pro Tools HD system with all bells and whistles. A sales engineer to put it all together for me. Someone to install it for me. A house to put it in and oh yeah, someone else to pay for it all!

Seriously, man! I should stop buying gear and save up for a house. Recording in an apartment "room/office" isn't the best.
I also record in the basement of my apartment.
I have a 4'X4' Whisper Room vocal booth, an Argosy Dual 15K desk with a Motif XS8, a separate Roland Fantom X8, set of Yamaha DTXtreme III Special Electronic Drums, a couch and TV. Its cosy but I really need a house.
Ran sound since I was in my late teens; okay so that was 40 years ago. I like hands on mixing- but digital gives you the ultimate control. I run a new yammy, but my dream has always been my own studio. I just finished building a 30 x 50 garage ( studio to be) with 200 amp elec and heat/ac. Next stop- presonus and some fun. I have not finished the inside as of yet; getting all the specs and layout work done on my CAD. Was going to run underground and overhead conduit to pull cables and connections through. Debating how I want to booth it and baffling materials.
Sorry If I'm bringing up an old thread or something, but...
For me, I think it would not be about one specific piece of gear, more like a Check for about $50,000and a day trip to sweet water.
If I had to choose one, it'd be a minimoog voyager xl
Stay Crikey and Check out my sounds .
