Questions about Sony Integrated Stereo Amp TA-FE500R
Hi, I'm trying to modernize my audio equipment and I need some advice & help.
I've tried different combinations and solutions before with no luck so I'm looking someone who's more or less an expert on these kind of issues.
First of all, I've an Sony Amp (model's in the topic) which has channels for basically all my equipment (LP/CD/DVD etc.) They're all input RCA. Then there's inputs for my old school speakers (with the thin copper cords). But my question is, can I somehow get additional 2+1 system with modern 3,5mm male plug, working simultaneously with the old speakers to improve my sound system? Is there's a jack or an adapter for this to be even possible? I haven't got any product info/user's quide for this amp, bought it from an outlet. Some special characteristics that could help: There's one TAPE/DAT channel that has 2x2 rca inputs instead of only one pair. Then there's this mysterious TAPE/MD channel. And in the front panel, there's buttons "Tape 1 Monitor" and "Source Direct". What does these terms mean (I don't speak english as my mother tongue).
Help would be much appreciated, I want to win my neighbor in competition of audio arms race
