does anyone know how to use countryman earset mic?
i've tried it for a tv show last week and causes a lot of popping noise, the sound of user's breath sensitively captured by countryman and it made a lot of noise...
how can i remove or reduce that breathing noise??
notes : i already used windshield and sensitivity set to -30dB
If I recall, that mic isn't really designed to sit right on the user's mouth. Was it somebody with a really small head? Gating will help with breath noises, but not with plosives. Plus, if you're not careful with the gate you could end up with some really unnatural sounding moments.
It's hard to say what exactly was the problem without observing it first hand. I would try having the user position it a little differently to avoid the breath sounds, and use a bass rolloff to reduce plosives.

The mic should not be in front of the mouth. It should sit about 1 cm away from the corner of the mouth, our of the path of any plosives or breath sounds. I use a Countryman all the time, and when properly placed, I never have these problems.
