Recording from software preamp (Amplitube) into CEP/Audition

Hi there,

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I recently had to wipe my system and reinstall windows...ever since, I've been having a tough time getting my recording interface going again. I also upgraded an old Soundblaster 128 card to an Audigy 4.

I've been using an old Swissonic USBStudio device to get my guitar into the computer, using GuitarRig and Amplitube. I've also got an MAudio Jamlab.

Since reinstalling, I've finally managed to get the soft preamps working nicely again, but now it's Cool Edit that I'm having trouble with: If I load a drum loop onto track 1, then arm track 2 to record and start jamming, track 2 is recording the output from track 1. It's recording both the guitar and the output from track 1. The only devices I can select for input/output are for the Audigy soundcard and 'wave mapper'. Every combination results in the same problem.

I have no idea what to do! It seems like a signal routing problem, but I can't find where the settings are to fix this. I didn't have this problem with my previous installation, it's new to me.

I found another guy saying he was having the same problem on another forum, but there wasn't a reply to it.

sound blaster cards have a 'what you hear' feature (wave out mix)

if this activated CEP will record everything exiting machine

This is part of the soundcard mixer setting (probably the Windows mixer for any Creative cards), not part of CoolEdit settings.
