Recording Problem With ACID Music Studio - Any Suggestions?
Here is the issue:
I am using M-Audio Fast Track Pro and ACID MS
I can hear the guitar from FT PRo and the ACID loop just fine...when I hit record, I can hear it ok, too.
On playback, it only recorded into one channel.
Also, on playback, could not hear the effects and preamp from the GT Player plug ins that came with FT PRO.
Any suggestions? Comments?
thanks!

You are doing what millions of recordings engineers have done for ever. One source produces one channel. As a brief summary, one microphone or one instrument correctly record to one track. You should record as mono so you don't get an accompanying blank channel.
The mono recording becomes a single track in a multi-track layout. If it is panned dead center it plays back equally out of each side. Adjusting it to where you want it is part of the mixing process.
If this one track is going to go to CD all by itself, it must become two tracks. The two tracks will be dual mono, both identical, but this is necessary to meet CD specifications.
Your question is one of the most common ones asked on audio forms. It has been discussed here many times so you should be able to hunt up more information if you want.
