    I have a Job

Ok, I get a disk from a DJ, that is about an hour of her show.
The cd she sends is am station, recorded from the internet, while she is mouse clickin' around sites. Add the fact that she over-drove the level at recording the cd about +2db. I called her and told her about this, and she is cool about the caveats by me that basically, I would try to reduce the clicks, and overdriven recording.
My thoughts are first, to edit the cd as requested, (basicaly its a dj audition thing). But I want my name on the "edited by" section.
Next run it through a "de-clicker" and see what happens.
Next import edited wave file to sonar, and try 3db lower thing, which I am thinking ain't gonna fly.
The problem that arises in my thinking is it's already broadcast compressed, and I am basically stuck with it as is, as far as peak overloads.
any suggestions in the next 12 hours would be appreciated.
    Be good

Was she clicking while talking? Is this supposed to be an aircheck for her demo purposes, or are you trying to re-package a show?

If the clicking happened during a song or other stuff, I would just telescope the airchecks down to her segments--that's all a program director wants to hear anyway. As long as you get the transition into and out of her stop-sets, it shouldn't matter what she was doing while the songs were playing. Now if she was clicking while talking... that's another story, and I'm not sure what you can do about that.

As far as the levels go, I would only worry about making it listenable. This "dj" needs to figure out a better way to aircheck herself. Even splitting the headphone jack out of her board into a cassette recorder would be better than what she's doing. I know that doesn't help you, but she needs to learn her craft! Good luck.

    Thanks
It came out ok, I couldn't get rid of the overpeaks.
I kinda used a parametric to isolate the clicks out.
It's a freebee, so no biggie.

Adobe Audition 2.0 is a new wave editor you can find on P2P.It is very very good editor. There is something call clip restauration and it work nice.Part of signal which was louder than 0 db while recording now will be redraw and it take normal wave look. Before that signal must be atenuate by 3-5 db to make the place for new peak.

    All best,Lestra Belgrade
