    Question Who makes the drivers for the Mackie HR824 monitors?

    Does anyone know who makes the Drivers for the Mackie HR824 monitors?
    The metal tweeter and the low frequency driver.

    I could be wrong about this, but I think they are made by RCF, the Italian transducer manufacturer that is owned by Mackie.

    I heard a pro ME mention that it's a $24 woofer in there. Would be nice to find out who supplies these drivers though.

    Well, I can tell you it's no LPG or Audax or ETON or Seas or Vifa these are the top metal dome manufacturers and whatever Mackie uses, it ain't worth the freaking $80 they're asking for. since all of the above tweeters cost under $40 and LPG is about one of the best you can get.

    According to http://www.apexjr.com/speakerstuff.html the Mackie HR824 uses a:

    Vifa P22WP-01 8" woofers OEM marked. Used in the Mackie 824 monitors. features: 30 oz. vented magnet, 35Hz - 4KHz, Mineral filled poly cone, butyl rubber surround, cast mannesium basket, 1.5" voice coil

    TS: Fs 29.5Hz, QMS 2.20, QES 0.31, QTS 0.27, Vas 77 l, Re 5.8 ohms, Sd 235 cm2, Rm 2.5, Bl 10.2, Md 29.5 g, Xmax 6 mm $27.50 ea

    I heard from one of the Sweetwater reps that the tweeter is the same as in the Genelec 1031A's. Anyone else got any info on this?
