I'll take the five bucks and give it a shot....won't happen though. This is something that is physically impossible to do. When people ask this I tell them it is as easy as taking the sugar out of a baked cake and leave the rest of the ingredients. Point is...once a recording is mixed down together..it's done and there is no way to separate things unless you have the master tracks and they were all completely isolated to begin with, which if this is from an Idol performance it is a "live" situation which doesn't have that type of separation. Save the $5 and try and find a recording of it in the store.

you can remove the cheering, but you would need a sophisicated wave editor like CEDAR
    http://www.cedar-audio.com/news/retouch.html
    which works with SADiE systems
    http://www.sadie.com/fr_index.html?/products/cedar.html

the system should only cost around $20,000.00

MrM: I'll give you $100 bucks if you can make the crowd noise so loud that I can no longer hear Ruben Studdard at all.

Matter of fact, I'll put you on payroll at $500 per week if you'll just follow me around and smash any object or person projecting "A Whole New World."
