I want to make music for adverts, tv etc.

I have quite a lot of songs and loops and wondered how I should advance into getting my songs on tv. Should I make a demo cd and send it to an advertising company? should the songs be in different genres to show that I can make different styles? how long should the songs be?

    hi Skaven83
unfortunately, like everything in life its not WHAT you know but WHO you know
if you have ANY contacts, friends, friend of a friend that can direct you to the right PEOPLE then it would make your life so much easyer......
having said that, you have to market yourself and your product. build a "port folio" of your work show ALL your styles.
make two setts of CDs, the first set will be VERY VERY fast about 5 sec of each trak all x-faded and put together well. this is to get your foot in the door. the second set of CDs is for when you get a serious interview/meeting with some head guy thats when you can show off your stuff fully!!
keep in mind what field you want to get in to... tv/radio comercials and jingles are only approx 30 sec long. tunes for soaps and serries can vari. movie score stuff can last the entire length of the movie, so prepare your work FOR THE FIELD YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO GET IN TO!! good luck with it and let us know how you get on.
    Keep Happy!!
