I'm using Digital Performer with Unity DS-1 on a Mac G4 400 (The first ones with G3 Motherboard). I got 256 Mo for the RAM.
When I record audio files in DP, they appear in the Track display and I can playback them without any problem. But when I open them in the DP waveform Editor, as soon as I select a part of it with my mouse, my computer freeze... I can open every scrolling menu in the Wafeform Editor but if I try to touch the waveform itself everything stops.
I had a lot of problems at first, configuring the studio and hardware setup (in the Basics Menu). My computer freezed each time I recorded an audio track. The DP processor "Play Buffer" was always on the red when I opened any song. I gave DP more memory (after several tries, I suppose DP gets DS-1 memory allocation too). Now I can record audio tracks, but I can't work on them. (the Play Buffer still does the same. But When I start the song, it goes back to minimum level).
Is it possible that Quicktime have a conflict with DP (I'm thinking about Quicktime settings, or Sound manager concerning input source and buffer length)?
I choose "In- 1" as a mono audio-in but Sound manager apps or Unity DS-1are also available.
Thanks for the one who could know where this comes from !
Try Updating to 2.7. It is glitchfree as far as I can tell and I've used it with the Unity demo version with no problems on my G3. Also get the latest Freemidi (1.44) if you can...
