2408mk3 DP 3.11 - Analog in/out is fine, can't hear anything through ADAT playback!
using a 2408mk3 and dp 3.11.
I recorded a few tracks via analog in, and outputed on analog 1. Monitored via headphone jack for playback and it worked fine. Yay.
Then I hooked up my octopre, 8 tracks at once, and inputted via lightpipe to ADAT bank A. Recorded fine, saw the spikes etc etc. My input was Adat 1-8 IN, and output was ADAT 1-8 out. Nothing through the headphone jacks. I saved the file, changed my hardware configuration back to analog, routed all outputs to analog 1-8, then i heard the tracks played through the headphones succesfully.
Went back to digital in/out setup, and turned on audio patch through.. finally, i hear something through the headphone jack during playback, but it is soft as hell! What could this be? I'm sure there is some sort of monitoring/playback setting i'm not figuring out.. but why would things work via analog out but not adat out? This seems kind of weird.. The low volume thing when i select audio patch through is even weirder.

I might be wrong about this, but I think the headphone out on a 2408 is simply a mirror of analog outputs 1-2. So, if there is nothing routed to the analog outs, you won't hear anything in the headphones.
It's worth calling Sweetwater's tech support (assuming you bought the system here). They can set you straight. Also, try searching the knowledge base found in the "Sweetcare" area of our website.
