    differences

I wonder if anyone can identify with this, and perhaps enlighten me. Sometimes, I record audio into Sonar and the levels are optimum (without clipping). However, when I open the wave in Cool Edit for processing, it clips. Is this normal? Thanks

If you mean its a subtle shift try peaking your waves at -0.05. Its probably that a max ceiling in one product of 0db is considered clipped in another.

    cheers

I don't find the meters in CEP are very
    true.

When recording digitally I'd say use at least 6 or if on better equipment 9 dB of headroom. Remember your meters usually don't show the height of all peaks.
