Sonar2, Video view and dual monitor cards

    Hi everybody !!
I am Hugo Violante, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I have been many times "rescued " by you in the past , and I hope you help me again this time!!!

I am using the video feature of sonar for playing live with sincronized image and secuenced music, and I like to be able to position the video window in one monitor while i am watching at the track view to perform live with my laptop, sending the video to a second monitor( in fact, a media projector ) .I have a dual controller S3Inc.SavageMX/IX internal video card in my Toshiba Tecra 8100, 800 Mhz, 20 Mb HD, 256 Mb Ram lap top.

What happens is that when I use the Windows adicional monitor feature,( which lets you extend your working area in more than one screen at the same time ), after mooving windows bettwen the main and secondary monitor, everything gets freezed and the computer hungs up really badly !!. My questions are.
1 _ did you address this problem before
2- is Sonar 2.0 abble to work in the win 98 enviroment with the doble monitor configuration???
3 - Can you give me a clue about how to solve or get a walk around this problem.??
I will really apreciate your soon answer and advices.
    Thanks in advance

    Hugo

Nope, sorry. I used dual monitors in Win98 and never had problems with it. Now I run Win2000, and it's just as stable, or more so...

    Yes.

Sounds like a driver problem. I haven't used the card you have. Have you checked for driver updates? I would start by install Windows 2000 or XP, as dual monitoring is much better supported, and Sonar runs smoother...
