    Newbie question

I'm doing mostly audio recording in cubase sx, using a RME multiface on a Dell 8200. Things been fun, and im looking to add some keys (midi) to the mix. I'm not a big keyboard guy, but I can fuddle some sounds.

Am looking for some advice, should i look at a nice little synth unit or should I run something like add HaLion and an Oxygen 8?

Are there any benifits to one vs the other?

And if a synth unit is more desirable any brands in particular stand out?

    Thks for your input..

    Steve

it depends how many audio tracks you want to do and how much you want to limit your computers performance. look back in the archives - there was a discussion on soft synth's vs hard synths. you may want to read that over a bit. I personally still love putting my hands on a real synth
