I'm a bit new at this - and a bit confused. Using Cakewalk's Sonar 2.2 on a 2.4 GHz P4 system whose motherboard has on board audio and on-board midi/game port. Also have Echo Audio's Gina24 Soundcard installed - and am using a Kurzweil K2500X keyboard for Midi. On my old system (with a Soundblaster Live! card). The Soundblaster showed up as a Midi In and Midi Out choice. On my new system, my only Midi In/Out choices are MPU401. Should the Gina show up there? Is this an installation issue or just a newbie misunderstanding (i.e., can't understand how I'll hear my Kurzweil midi tracks when I play them back - seems like they'll be played back by the MPU401). Also, any recommendations as to whereI can learn more about how to make best use of the Gina24 with Sonar? Gina24 manual is a bit lacking in detail. THANKS!
I don't know the details of the Gina card or if it has a MIDI port, but the MPU401 should be the MIDI port built into your motherboard. You'll need an adapter to connect the joystick port to your K.
Gina24 doesn't have a MIDI port. Been doing some reading/research and I'm starting to grasp how all this stuff ties together. Thanks for your help - I'll just keep reading and experimenting!
