Still getting this at home Voice Over studio together and need more advise. I use Cool Edit and hoped to be able to adjust the effects (compression, etc) while sitting in a mic closet monitoring my voice through a headset before recording to PC (which is outside the closet). So I was looking hard at HHB's FatMan so I could sample the various effects w/out getting up, going to the PC for playback monitoring. However, it's been suggested I get Aardvarks 24/96 for its clock and shielded converters, etc which it sound like I want but, it won't really allow me to "sample and adjust/tweak the effects" while monitoring in the closet prior to recording. (I don't want to move my PC into the closet).
Is this something that I shouldn't worry about because, "in time", I'll know how to best adjust Aardvarks DSP effects software?
Could I get the FatMan and purchase a compatible Pro Card w/ shielded converters and decent master clock?
If so, can you suggest a suitable PCI card?
Any help would really be appreciated.
