Building my first DAW - PC - seeking advice

First, I'd like to say hello to everyone on this message board.

Like many of you, I really enjoy writing music, but I hate trying to put together a band and committing to practice and dealing with all of the creative conflicts. Everyone wants to do things their way...and I'm no different...so I decided to just do it all myself and build my own DAW. I would love to have the ability to record a wide range of types of music from basic jingles and video game music to more techno-like music like ratatat and infect mushroom. I currently play guitar (accoustic, looking to get an electric soon) and piano/keyboard. My current keyboard is a Yamaha DGX-620, but I'd be willing to sell it and purchase a different one if you guys reccommend doing so.

I'm building my first DAW, and so I am seeking some opinions and advice to make sure I do everything right.

Here is what I'm currently looking at purchasing:

Keep in mind that I will be playing games on this computer and that I also have an external hard drive for storing larger media. With that said, how does this look? Any suggestions for additional or different parts?

Also, other than the computer itself, I'm completely lost as to what other devices I want to purchase such as microphones, mixers, etc...I'm pretty much brand new to this and so I want to make sure I do this right the first time.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and offer suggestions!

I highly suggest getting an audio interface, but don't rely on it for gaming. It may actually be best to dual boot your machine as well, but that is optional.

As far as mics, instruments and the like, there are so many options to talk about and I would really not make a recommendation until I knew more about what you wanted and what you would be ready to spend. I'd be happy to go over all of this.
