Hey all! My setup right now is as follows:

(Glyph 1TB HDD) -fw400-> (Liquid Saffire 56) -fw400/800 adapter-> (Macbook Pro)
(Focusrite Saffire Pro 40) -ADAT-^

It's not bad and everything runs without problems until I track 9 or more channels at 24/96. Pro Tools stops playback and recording occasionally and gives me the error message saying it can't get to the drive fast enough. And, it's lame enough to be running a great hard drive at fw400 speeds anyway.

I want to get around this problem, and I could possibly get a fw800 hub, but I have premonitions that those won't do me very well. One of my professors recommended this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YinYang

I guess nothing would be as ideal as having two firewire ports on my computer, but is this the next best thing?
