I have recently built a computer that, I hoped, would be my primary music making machine. However, it doesn't seem to be able to handle as much as I would like. For example, 1 track in ableton with Native Instruments Guitar Rig running only reflektor as the effect tends to cause somewhere between 30-100% cpu usage and brings the system to its knees. The cpu meter tends to constantly "bounce" between low levels and very high levels. This is the case for all other audio programs as well.
I am running at 4410 with the proper asio drivers and with latency set to a reasonable amount.(Though I've tried all possible settings)

I am using a presonus firestudio as my audio interface.
