2488neo - import mono WAV from CD not working

I've had the neo for about two weeks now and so far it's been real easy to use/learn. However, the neo manual claims to allow import of mono WAV files from a CD. When I tried to import a mono guitar WAV file I got the error - "Wrong type of CD. Check the disc." It's a standard CD-R. No alternatives are mentioned in the manual. I could play the CD through my system and go to an input that way but that defeats using the built-in CD drive which is supposed to send the data to a virtual track. Any help would be appreciated.

Import mono WAV from a CD must be on a DATA disc

OK, listen up everyone! Here's the solution. When you burn your WAV files to a disc for importing into the neo, the disc MUST be a DATA disc, not an audio disc. Audio discs use the AIF format. Even though your music file is a WAV file when you burn a CD - I learned the hard way - I used Toast and it somehow converted the WAV file to AIF. However, if you burn a DATA disc it will retain the WAV format and the neo will read it like a charm. So keep in mind - when importing WAV files into the neo from a disc, it MUST be a DATA disc.

    Rock on...

    2488neo

Ok I've done everything I've read from so many different forums and it still isn't working. The message I get is "No file for import has been found....." Please help me....and what is the difference between a data cd and an audio cd other than the way you burn them, if any. Because I know how to burn cds as both a data disc and an audio disc.

A data disc is strictly for files whereas an Audio CD can be played in a conventional CD player. When you make the disc and pop it in your car stereo and it gives you an error, you have probably done it right. You will need a program like Nero on PC or Toast on Mac (although there are others) to do this. Don't use any sort of Music software (ie, iTunes, Windows Media Player) to make the CD.
